Iraq: four dead, including a policeman, in attacks

Four people, including a traffic policeman and a changer, were killed Monday in Iraq, sources said the security services.


In Baghdad, a traffic policeman and a civilian were killed in the blast Monday in a bomb placed at the entrance to a police station in western Baghdad, said a ministry source of Interior.

Ten other people were injured, including seven police officers from the traffic, Ghazaliya, "he added.

Since July, the traffic police are the target of gunfire and explosions in the capital, where traffic jams are becoming more and more monstrous.

These officers, who were not wearing bulletproof vests and were armed only with a pistol, began to equip themselves with Kalashnikovs last few days.

Moreover, in the rich oil city of Kirkuk, 240 km north of Baghdad, Kurdish changer was shot in his store by gunmen fled, police said.

In Baquba, 60 km north of Baghdad, one civilian was killed and four were wounded by a bomb hidden on the roadside and Saklawiya, 60 km west of Baghdad on the highway linking Iraq to Jordan, a driver and a policeman were injured by the explosion of a tanker which had been placed against a magnetic bomb, also told the police.
